Birse Metro has been awarded the Design & Build Project for Platform Lengthening works at Royal Oak Station for London Underground Limited, valued at £801k.

 

Including a design phase, the project consists of a new extension of the island platform in an easterly direction by 11.8m and the construction of a new 8m long end ramp.  In addition, the existing platform lighting is to be extended to facilitate the platform lengthening work, whilst the existing track signalling will also be relocated to accommodate the use of the seventh car.

 

Interfaces of third party assets include the incorporation of the existing Network Rail (OLE) overhead line equipment within the footprint; the extended platform and temporary modification / relocation of existing signalling; and communications cabling.  The electrical installations will be undertaken by Birse Metro’s in house Electrical Division.
